Dear Parents, Students, Friends and Neighbors!
It’s time for an update: our studio is open again and the doorbell
is busy. What a joy to hear those chimes and see the students walking in and out again.
Although mask requirements have been lifted and we always
have an air filter running, we ask students to still wear masks
when coming to the studio. Our place is small and we have a lot
of young students.
We also ask parents and students to be mindful
and stay at home if you think you have been
exposed to Covid, if you test positive, feel sick or
have a fever. There is always the option to meet
via Zoom class. Just give us a call or text and we
will send you a link.
There are still a few spots open this fall, so give us
a call to schedule a free initial meeting, so we can
get to know each other and set your goals.

My name is Petra Pingel and my music school is called Harmony House for Kids - Creative Education in Music.
Harmony House for Kids is a branch of Music People Studios, founded and owned by my husband James Harden.
He has been teaching music to teens and adults in Charlotte for more than 35 years.
I have been teaching children ages five to eleven for more than twenty years.
We offer vocal, music and rhythmic education for children starting at the age of five, teenagers and adults.
Our studio is equipped with a variety of instru-
ments: piano/keyboards, guitars (acoustic and
electric), ukulele, violins, flutes, bass-guitars,
various percussion instruments and drum kits.
Generally all our classes are private classes and
are taught in a recording studio environment.
Your child gets used to a micro-phone and
recording process right from the start.
We create an individual curriculum for every child, to meet the students needs and progress.
Some of our students are German or have a German background. For those students, the music classes are taught in the German language if desired.
We are located in the Charlotte / Cotswold area, at the corner of Sardis and Randolph Rd., less than 10 minutes east of South Park Mall.
All our classes are generally private classes, Mondays through Fridays from 8AM to 6PM, once a week, four times a month.
They can be booked as 30 minutes, 45 minutes and/or 60 minute classes.

We are giving special rates for classes booked between 8AM and 1PM.

C L A S S E S
Music Classes:
The main focus will be the instrument of your choice. During the course of the classes, your child will become exposed to all the different instruments in our studio and their musical range and possibilities. We will also emphasize music theory and good breathing habits.
Rhythmic Education:
Rhythmic education is part of every class.
In a playful way your child gets introduced to the
concepts of beat, rhythm and tone.
Students also learn that music can be stimulating,
inviting, calming and relaxing.
Through rhythmic education your child develops
the basics of self expression.
Breathing Techniques:
In our classes we talk about the four stages of breathing, and the anatomy and science of breath. The breathing exercises teach your child to breathe properly and expand their lung capacity to increase endurance and concentration. It is well known that the child that breathes properly achieves easily.

Vocal Classes:
Basic instructions start with breathing techniques, holding tone exercises and finding the "home" key. After a short while your child starts studying a song of their choice. This will be recorded as an mp3 and/or video file so your child can take it home and share it with family and friends.

Creative Art:
Every child loves to draw! If it is learning an instrument, singing, breathing techniques or music theory - all classes are enhanced with color and form. This helps your child to learn faster and more easily to remember the class lesson.

Our studio is conveniently located in the Cotswold/Sherwood Forrest neighborhood - less than five minutes from Cotswold Shopping Center, Cotswold Elementary School and Randolph Middle School. And less than 10 minutes east of South Park Mall.
All our classes are generally private classes. Classes are held Mondays through Fridays from 8AM to 6PM, once a week, four times a month.
They can be booked as 30, 45 or 60 minute classes.
We are giving special rates for morning classes between 8AM and 1PM.
